A Store That Had Everything.

The story behind UNITEDSTA starts with a screen door, a hand-painted sign, and a neighborhood nobody ever really leaves behind.

My memory of Todd's — a small neighborhood general store in 1990s Kentucky

From memory — this is how I remember Todd's. The sign may be a little off.

When I was a kid growing up in Kentucky, our neighborhood had a store called Todd's.

It wasn't big. It wasn't fancy. There was no brand identity, no curated aesthetic, no theme. It was a small place wedged between two unremarkable buildings on an unremarkable street — and yet, whenever my parents needed something, they'd say: "Go check at Todd's."

Most of the time, Todd's had it. Whatever it was.

And if Todd's didn't have it? You wrote your name in a little book by the register, and next month, it would be there waiting for you. No app, no tracking number, no follow-up email. Just a nod and a "we'll get it."

I've lived in a lot of places since I left Kentucky. I've shopped at a lot of stores — beautiful ones, expensive ones, stores with mood lighting and staff that match the wallpaper. But none of them ever felt the way Todd's felt. None of them made me feel like someone had actually thought about what I might need today.

I couldn't tell you what Todd looked like anymore. I couldn't tell you if the floor was wood or tile. But I remember the screen door. I remember the cold of the soda machine outside. I remember that feeling of walking in with a problem and walking out with it solved.

“Todd's wasn't trying to be anything. It just was. And that was enough.”

That's the American spirit I can't quite define but instantly recognize. Not glamour. Not ambition. Not disruption. Just: here's what you need, and here's someone who thought ahead enough to have it.

UNITEDSTA is my attempt to carry that forward. We sell stickers, placemats, home essentials, and the little things that make everyday American life feel like yours. Not curated. Not a lifestyle. Just useful, honest goods — the kind of things Todd's would have stocked if Todd had a website.

We don't have a little book by the register anymore. But if there's something you need and you can't find it here, let us know. We'll figure it out.

— For Todd's. For Kentucky. For all the stores that solved problems without making a fuss about it.

What We Believe In

🛠️

Solve First

Every product we carry exists because someone needed it. We don't stock things to look interesting — we stock them because they work.

🇺🇸

Lived-In Americana

Not the highlight reel — the everyday version. County fairs, front porches, dirt roads, Derby hats, and the flag on the mailbox.

📖

No Gatekeeping

No exclusives, no access codes. If it's on the shelf, it ships today. Something not here yet? Put your name on the list — we'll find it. That's the Todd's way.
